General Information

All of our leagues and classes are open to friends from all neighborhoods, you do not have to be an Edgewood resident to play/participate. For any questions, please contact Abby at office@edgewoodboro.com, Activities take place at Koenig Field, unless otherwise noted

Youth Leagues

CO-ED Softball

Softball is open to girls and boys ages 7-13. Registration goes through the end of March until the beginning of May. The season runs from the beginning of June, though the end of July, with practice/play on Monday and Thursday evenings, starting at 6pm. Kids are encouraged to come early for extra batting practice at 5:30. In addition, there will be a "spring training" period for the first 2 weeks, with an additional weekly practice. Participants should wear sturdy athletic shoes or cleats. Shirts will be provided. Registration fee is $50.

Co-ed T-ball

Co-ed T-ball is for boys and girls ages 4-7. Participants should be 4 as of June 1st. Registration goes through the end of March until the beginning of May. This sport will play through June and July, meeting twice weekly. Practice days and times are TBD. Cleats may be worn, but are not necessary. Shirts and caps will be provided. Registration fee is $50.

Youth Soccer

REGISTRATION EXTENDED: Registration has been extended through Friday, August 11!

This recreational league is open to boys and girls ages 4-14. Practices begin towards late August/early September. The cost for this sport is $65.

Participants should have cleats, and it is strongly recommended to bring a practice ball. T-shirts and socks will be provided. Spectators may bring their own chairs/blankets to sit on.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED! Our leagues depend on our dedicated volunteers. We are always looking for parents or community members to help coach. You do not have to be an expert in soccer, and previous experience is not necessary. You just need to be able to be a role model and help guide teams through the season, provide basic instruction of the sport, and be ready to have fun! Clearances are required. Co-ed Youth Basketball

This league is for boys and girls in Kindergarten* through Grade 8 (*Kindergarteners should be age 6 as of the start of the season). You do not need to be an Edgewood resident to play. There will be up to 10 kids per team, with a maximum of 6 teams per Division. This is to allow adequate gym time for all teams, and the best experience for all participants.  

The regular season begins in early January. All games and practices are held in the Edgewood STEAM Academy Gymnasium. Practices will take place one weeknight evening each week. Games are held on Saturdays, according to Division.  

The fee for this league is $65. T-shirts will be provided. Registration is open now through Friday, December 1. Please click here to register.

We are still looking for volunteers, especially coaches!  Basketball experience is not required, we just need good role models role model to help kids stay active and have fun! Wooden Bat Baseball

Wooden Bat Baseball has not been able to continue due to lack of interest. If you would like to join a baseball team, we do offer Tball for boys and girls ages 5-7, and Softball for girls ages 7-14. See below on this page for more information.

There are also other baseball leagues in our area, such as the Wilkinsburg Baseball Association in Wilkinsburg and 14th Ward Baseball in Squirrel Hill.
